The 5th Guanxi Honey Pomelo Festival in Zhangzhou

Honey Pomelo have been cultivated in China for centuries, the Guanxi Honey pomelo for more than 500 years in Pinghe County, in the Fujian Province.

Since 2005 the government of Pinghe County has been holding the Guanxi Honey Pomelo Festival on October 16th every year. Thousands of honey pomelo dealers and tourists from around the world attend the fesival.
Guanxi is the old name for Pinghe County. In 2000, Guanxi was registered as the brand name of the honey pomelo. In 2002, Pinghe County the Cinese Cenral Government as a Geographic Identity (GI) for honey pomelo and in 2007 Guanxi Honey Pomelo was contracted as one of Sino-EU GI protected produces.

With more than 500 years of growing history, Pingue Guanxi Honey Pomelo ranks first among all of the pomelos in China. The exports are increasing every year, from 100,000 tons last year to 120,000 this year.
